Economy Crisis

Employment in Afghanistan has been affected by ongoing conflict, weak economic growth, and limited job opportunities. The unemployment rate in Afghanistan is high, particularly among young people, and many Afghans struggle to find decent work. Agriculture is the main source of employment in Afghanistan, but the sector is not able to provide enough jobs to meet the needs of the growing population. Despite these challenges, many Afghans are determined to improve their economic circumstances and are seeking ways to increase their skills and employability.

Awesta has supported several initiatives over the years to help Afghan youth enter the local job market and improve their skills. As a result, we established a printed and online job portal called Kaar.af in 2012 in partnership with Oxus technologies. This portal has provided employability training sessions to hundreds of young people, prepared them for jobs in the private and public sectors, and supported them throughout the hiring process.

To further expand employment opportunities for youth in Afghanistan, and particularly to open new doors for women following the Taliban's ban on education and work, Awesta has established a new page on our website to register female job seekers for remote jobs in any sector and connect them with international organizations for employment.

Education

Education in Afghanistan has seen significant changes in recent decades. After the fall of the Afghan government, we have made efforts to increase access to education, especially for girls who were largely denied education under the Taliban.

Children

We will launch our new initiative to provide health and wellness consultancy sessions through audio/video calls to the vulnerable people in Afghanistan. This initiative registers volunteer doctors in and outside the country to allocate a few hours of their time weekly and advise several registered patients weekly.
